Materials which document C. Harry Youngquist's career as a nuclear engineer. The collection includes copies of essays and articles by Youngquist, Argonne National Laboratory printed material, federal agency publications, and Youngquist's notebook, slides and photographs.   2. "Transport System in Argonne Chemistry Cave," 1963 (authored with others).
  3. "A Controlled-leak Capsule to Contain Intense Alpha Emitters," 1970.
  4. "LMFBR Spend Fuel and New Fuel Inspection and Handling," 1975.
  5. Copies of Argonne National Laboratory manuals and newsletters from 1951 through 1970, with several pertaining to hot laboratories and their equipment.
  6. Some publications of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.
  7. Geological survey maps of various U.S. Midwestern states, 1940s.
  8. Youngquist's notebook from a trip to Russia, undated (apparently 1960s or 1970s.
  9. 109 35mm slides, mainly of charts and graphs illustrating nuclear engineering issues; also some images of laboratory scenes. Also, 7 lantern slides with similar content.
  10. 28 photos of the Argonne National Laboratory, including images from the 1961 construction of its Hot Lab.
  11. A copy of the 1992 program commemorating the 50th Anniversary of CP-1, the first man-made controlled nuclear chain reaction.
  12. A DVD of the 2001 annual meeting of the American Nuclear Society.

Biographical Note

Papers of C. Harry Youngquist (1916-2007), who received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from IIT in 1942 and a Masters in Engineering from the same in 1957. He spent most of his career working as a nuclear engineer at the Argonne National Laboratory.
