Biographical Note

A major redesign of the IIT campus landscape was undertaken ca. 1996 as part of the master plan proposed by IIT trustee Dirk Lohan. Peter Lindsay Schaudt Landscape Architecture, Inc., in collaboration with Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, was contracted to do the work which, in its first stages, included creating a terraced field to the north of Crown Hall and forestation of areas along State St. and 33rd St. as they run through the campus.
