Description of the Collection Four aerial views of campus and the surrounding area: 1) Black and white aerial view of campus and surrounding area, roughly Michigan Ave. to Canal St., 31st St. to Pershing. Dated 1951, image predates construction of Dan Ryan Expressway, and includes Wentworth Gardens, old Comiskey Park, the Mecca building, and original Armour Institute complex. A two square block area to the east of State St., later to be developed as McCormick Village (student housing complex) is outlined. ...

Three pages of blueprints (27 x 41") for the Navy Building (later, Alumni Memorial Hall) by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Holabird & Root. Drawings are identified as First Floor Framing, drawing S2; 2nd Floor Framing, S3; and Roof Framing Plan, S4. All are dated 5/17/1945 and are identified as revisions of commission number 7774.

Luoma; Campus. Date stamp on box is July 1965 [Note: Ralph Luoma was IIT campus photographer ca. 1963.]

Description of the Collection Aerial photographs of IIT's main campus on South State Street and surrounding neighborhoods. Some photos include the Chicago Loop skyline or Lake Michigan horizon. Photos are in print (generally 8" x 10") format for earlier years and 35mm contact sheets (ca. 24 to 36 images per 8" x 10" sheet), slides, and some photocopies for later years.
